THE TECHNIQUES

THE FIGHT

Anyone who fights in any of the above situations can successfully apply the Wing Tzun principles. This is why many martial practitioners turn to Wing Tzun.

In Wing Tzun training, the punches, kicks, etc. are done with light contact, so that the risk of injury is minimised.

FORMS

"Forms" are basic, natural, traditional sequences of movements put together for self-defence purposes. They contribute to complete relaxation, meditation and well-being.

LAT SAO (Sparring exercices)

The aim of Wing Tzun is to develop fighting skills. In Lat Sao (which means "free fight") the Wing Tzun student learns to face a fight " one against one" without fear.

He can test his skills without fear of hurting his partner, so Lat Sao is an important and motivating part of Wing Tzun.

"Wing Tzun is not only a sophisticated martial arts system, but also an intelligent way to learn."

CHI SAO (Sticking arms)

Wing Tzun is the only martial art characterised by the unique practice of touch reflexes.

Chi Sao defensive reflexes are evoked in a very direct and mechanical way by the opponent's attack. Thus they are always precisely adapted to the situation.

Chi Sao reflexes are much faster than visual reactions and allow even a Wing Tzun fighter to defend himself blindly.

Chi Sao is the glue that fluidly connects individual movements that are not predetermined. This is how the Wing Tzun fighter closes his cover, adapted to the respective situation.

Without Chi Sao, Wing Tzun would only consist of a collection of individual techniques or dead movement patterns. Therefore, Chi Sao is the real soul of Wing Tzun!

WING TZUN – THE SYSTEM

Wing Tzun is not a collection of many individual techniques, but a complete martial arts system.

Wing Tzun follows the strategy of aggressive defence (Latin: "aggrediSto" to get too close to someone).

QUANTITIES OF MOUVEMENTS

Wing Tzun is designed to effectively fight a battle with few movements. The best self-defence is the one that can repel the most attacks with the least number of movements!

SIMULTANEOUSLY OF THE MOVEMENTS

We can perform up to three different movement patterns at the same time.Through an intensive practice the student learns to use the energy of the attack for his defence.

The parts of the body that come into contact with the opponent's attack (arms / legs) are put under tension by the opponent's force in such a way that they channel the full force of the attack directly back into the attacker.

CHAIN FIST PUNCHES

Once a Wing Tzun fighter has gained the advantage through a punch, he/she does not stop punching, but follows up with more chain fist punches. This is one of the most effective arm techniques of all. Traditional martial arts have no defence against it.

The rapid succession of strikes overwhelms the opponent's capacity to process the information, so that he/she is suddenly forced into a defensive position.
